The Mind Field: Careers in Mental Health

The event aims to explore the diverse landscape of careers in mental health, from widely known roles such as psychotherapists and counsellors to research, policy, advocacy, and creative therapeutic practices. It is a space to challenge common misconceptions, and highlight how individuals—especially within the Indian community—can intentionally pursue impactful careers in the mental health space while highlighting culturally relevant perspectives.

The event consists of 2 segments - a panel session and 3 rounds of Human Library conversations.

The panel session will center on professional pathways, lived experiences and the broader societal impact of mental health work. The Human Library segment will take on a round robin style, where Human Books (speakers) share about their career paths, challenges, and advice with Readers (participants) in small-group conversations.
